Fed-up McDonald's customer complains after McMuffin arrives with nothing inside

05-05-2021 02:50 PM

Empty McMuffin

Ammon News - Alex James, 26, said he was left "gutted" after ordering a McMuffin for breakfast on Saturday morning, only for the breakfast staple to arrive missing two vital ingredients.

Of all the products on McDonald's menu, the McMuffin is arguably one of the most sacred.

Created in 1972, the range of breakfast sandwiches have been a staple on the McDonald's menu for a long time.

The classic staple of a sausage and egg McMuffin is only improved by tucking a hash brown inside your sandwich.

So naturally, one customer was left feeling "gutted" after their order arrived with nothing inside.

Alex James, 26, ordered the sandwich to his home from the Belle Vale in Liverpool branch using Uber Eats.

The civil servant was left in stitches at the fast-food fail after noticing that the receipt had been stamped, confirming the order had been checked.

He posted a photograph of his empty £2.89 McMuffin on Twitter later that day, writing: "How's it even possible to forget to put the double sausage and egg in a... double sausage and egg McMuffin @McDonalds?

"Find me who's responsible.

"I want this man to be no more."

The image of the lacklustre breakfast, revealing its empty innards went viral, with thousands of comments.

A wordsmith aptly dubbed it a "McNuffin", while others just echoed his disappointment.

One person wrote: "This has happened to me before and it just leaves you baffled. Like how is it even possible to do this?

"I couldn't make a mistake like this even if I tried."

Another joked: "Look for the positives. You've not just taken five minutes off your life."

Speaking about his breakfast woe, Alex said: "I ordered it for delivery on Uber eats from Belle Vale Liverpool.

"When it arrived you could tell there was something up as the packaging was so thin. When I opened it there were only two buns.

"Uber Eats refunded £1.80 which isn't even the price of a Double Sausage and Egg McMuffin.

"The receipts had stamps saying the order had been checked but obviously something had gone wrong as there were no contents in the McMuffin and we received about seven hash browns instead of three.

"I was baffled and gutted! But the reaction to it has been funny."
