COVID-19 killed 62 in Jordan in the last 24 hours, as the death toll stands at 8,308 and a total of 3,509 cases were recorded, pushing the caseload to some 689,480, according to the Ministry of Health (MoH).
Breaking down Monday's tally, the MoH said 1,487 cases were recorded in Amman, 579 in Irbid, 342 in Zarqa, 217 in Mafraq, 175 in Balqa, 148 in Karak, 107 in Madaba, 99 in Ajloun, 98 in Aqaba, 91 in Jerash, 85 in Tafilah and 81 in Maan.
The MoH said in a press statement that some 265 people had recovered and were discharged from hospitals while 227 others were admitted, as the total number of COVID-19 patients in hospitals stands at 2,090.
The number of active COVID-19 cases in the Kingdom hovers around 36,688, it added.
More than 644,486 COVID-19 patients, including patients who had been self-isolating, have fully recovered so far.
Around 14 percent of the COVID-19 tests that were conducted today came back positive.
