Ammon News - Al Hassan Al Fakih, 21, a student from the University of Jordan, was selected as the sole Arab representative to the upcoming Asia World Model United Nations (AWMUN), which will be held in Indonesia in May.
AWMUN aims to help young leaders (age 17-25 old) from different places to broaden their networks providing a platform where they can share their perspectives about world’s issues, according to the AWMUN website.
Fakih is also a Hult Prize record-breaker, tennis champion and TEDx organiser.
Hult Prize is a global student competition and a crowd-sourcing platform for the creation of new social businesses. TEDx is a US-based non-profit organisation devoted to “ideas worth spreading”.
Fakih’s selection to participate in the upcoming conference came hours after winning a Hult Prize competition, where he broke the record by becoming "the world's first student to contribute to the organisation and success of the competition in four different cities at the same time".
Fakih is also the youngest holder of the certification of the Arab Council for Dispute Settlement and Diplomatic Relations, as well as one of the organisers of the Jordan World Youth Forum that was held in the Dead Sea area.
Fakih said that one of the main reasons behind all his achievements was the numerous “challenges he had to overcome”.
