Ammon News - The UAE ambassador to Jordan, Ahmed Balushi, said the Kingdom's celebration of the centenary is also marked in his country, adding that "Emiratis have the right to feel proud, as Jordan has turned into a contemporary country, seeking with effort and determination to achieve the well-being and happiness of its citizens, besides its important role in helping Arab countries and supporting the just national and humanitarian causes."
In a press interview, the envoy expressed pride in the development that Jordan has achieved despite all the challenges facing the region and the world as a whole, which indicates the determination to proceed to the second centenary with "greater" confidence in overcoming all the hardships and challenges it is facing.
The diplomat continued: "Since its establishment, Jordan has made great achievements, a strong presence and a prominent position recognized by world, and today it is a pivotal country and a true supporter for the Arab nation."
The envoy lauded the UAE-Jordan ties as " historic, deep-rooted" in all fields, thanks to the keenness of the two countries' leadership to strengthen, and develop them in all fields to achieve common interests.
The two countries maintain close cooperation and coordination at all levels, and have signed agreements in various political, economic, educational, cultural, media and health ,sports, air and land transport fields, in addition to the military and police areas, according to the envoy.
The UAE views the Kingdom as a basic partner, as the two countries represent the voice of wisdom and moderation in all files and issues, he said, adding that the bilateral relations are " a sincere reflection of the belief in the unity of destiny."
On the trade front, he said the two countries enjoy "distinguished" economic and investment relations, and have signed many agreements and memoranda of understanding in this regard, as the non-oil trade exchange increased during 2019 to $2.836 billion.
The diplomat said the Emirati investments in the Kingdom exceeded $17 billion, distributed among Infrastructure, transportation, tourism, agriculture, industry and renewable energy projects, while Jordanian investments in the UAE surpass $2 billion, especially in the real estate sector.
