COVID-19 killed 80 in Jordan in the last 24 hours, as the death toll stands at 7,469 and a total of 5,232 cases were recorded, pushing the caseload to some 650,681, according to the Ministry of Health (MoH).
Breaking down Wednesday's tally, the MoH said that 1,736 cases were recorded in Amman, 1,034 in Irbid, 603 in Zarqa, 296 in Balqa, 295 in Mafraq, 273 in Karak, 198 in Madaba, 197 in Ajloun, 181 in Aqaba, 175 in Tafilah, 130 in Jerash and 114 in Maan.
The MoH said in a press statement that some 297 people had recovered and were discharged from hospitals while 353 others were admitted, as the total number of COVID-19 patients in hospitals stands at 3,022.
The number of active COVID-19 cases in the Kingdom hovers around 72,885, it added.
More than 570,327 COVID-19 patients, including patients who had been self-isolating, have fully recovered so far.
Around 13 percent of the 40,230 COVID-19 tests that were conducted today came back positive.
