Jordan registers 97 COVID-19 related deaths, 6444 new infections

Jordan has registered, on Friday, 97 COVID-19 related deaths and 6444 new infections, according to a statement issued by the Prime Ministry and the Ministry of Health.

The statement added that the death toll stood at 6,374, while the caseload reached 577,734 since the beginning of the pandemic.

The new cases include 2963 in Amman, 1435 in Irbid, 532 in Zarqa, 286 in Balqaa, 271 in Aqaba, 170 in Madaba, 159 in Karak, 158 in Ajloun, 147 in Jerash, 141 in Tafila, 132 in Mafraq, and 50 in Maan.

392 people had recovered and were discharged from hospitals, while 448 others were admitted, the statement noted.

Around 18 percent of the 40,836 COVID-19 tests that were conducted today came back positive.
