Jordan Businessmen Association (JBA), has discussed remotely with the head of the Egyptian Industrial Development Authority (IDA), Mohammad Zalat, the mechanisms for strengthening investment and trade relations between Jordan and Egypt.

The virtual meeting, which was held on the sidelines of the 29th session of the Joint Jordanian-Egyptian Higher Committee, cast light on the investment opportunities and projects available in the two countries, especially in the industrial fields.

During the meeting, which was organized by the Egyptian Embassy in Amman, the JBA head, Hamdi Taba'a, stressed the importance of working to prepare a list detailing the industries of common interest that could be launched under joint private sector's cooperation to achieve strategic partnerships between the two countries.

In turn, Zalat called on the Jordanian private sector to visit his country and get acquainted with the Egyptian experience in the field of industrial complexes.
Speaking during the event, Awni al-Saket, a JBA member, stressed the necessity of implementing the decision to exempt Jordanian exports from Suez Canal fees and establish joint industries in the Aqaba Special Economic Zone Authority (ASEZA), as it enjoys many advantages and facilitations.
