Ammon News - The 29th session of the joint Higher Jordanian-Egyptian Committee will Tuesday convene in Amman, State Minister for Media Affairs Sakher Dudin announced on Saturday.
The decision to convene the committee was taken during a February meeting between Prime Minister Bisher Khasawneh and his Egyptian counterpart Mustafa Madbouly in Cairo.
"Holding these meetings, despite the exceptional health conditions that the world is going through, reflects the two countries’ determination and mutual eagerness to strengthen and advance bilateral relations, implement inter-cooperation projects in various fields, and maintain bilateral coordination on all that would serve the two brotherly countries and peoples," Dudin said in a statement.
Technical teams from both countries will kick off their meetings today and will discuss over the next two days the technical aspects of the 29th session’s agenda before the committee convenes on Tuesday under the chairmanship of the prime ministers of the two countries.
Over the past few weeks, the two sides held predatory meetings in Cairo, during which they discussed the outcome of the committee’s previous meeting and progress made toward implementing projects which the countries agreed on.
On a related note, Dudin said that the Kingdom will Wednesday host follow-up and coordination meetings under the tripartite cooperation mechanism between Jordan, Egypt and Iraq, in order to achieve the desired integration between the three countries, in implementation of the leaders' decisions and the outcomes of the summits they held.
These encounters at the joint ministerial-level come as a continuation of a series of efforts and previous meetings hosted by the three countries during the past months and at a continuous pace, which aimed to enhance integration and build on commonalities.
