COVID-19 killed 61 in Jordan in the last 24 hours, as the death toll stands at 5,285, and a total of 4,144 cases were recorded, pushing the caseload to some 4690,000, according to the Ministry of Health (MoH).
Breaking down Saturday's tally, the MoH said that 2,112 cases were recorded in Amman, 616 in Irbid, 426 in Zarqa, 229 in Balqa, 142 in Mafraq, 138 in Jerash, 136 in Karak, 126 in Madaba, 59 in Ajloun, 59 in Tafilah, 51 in Maan, and 501 in Aqaba.
The MoH said in a press conference in the Prime Ministry that some 114 people had recovered and were discharged from hospitals while 375 others were admitted, as the total number of COVID-19 patients in hospitals stands at 2,737.
The number of active COVID-19 cases in the Kingdom stands at around 75,588, it added.
More than 390,120 COVID-19 patients, including patients who had been self-isolating, have fully recovered so far.
In the government's efforts to stem the spread of coronavirus, contact tracing teams conducted some 28,000 tests, about 15 percent of which came back positive, as the total number of tests tops 5.1 million.
