Ammon News - The University of Jordan (JU) decided to close the faculties of nursing and educational sciences and the university's nursery on Saturday for sterilizing purpose, due to recording Coronavirus (Covid-19) infections among its staff, and they will resume operations on Sunday.

Teams have been formed from the Deanship of Student Affairs and university security to monitor adherence to wearing masks and social distancing and providing all means of prevention, according to a JU statement.

The statement added that the number of Covid-19 infections in the university is still very limited and the source is not accurately known, and that the majority of the infections that were recorded, according to the available information, among contacts from outside the university.

The statement said the JU will deal firmly with the implementation of these measures aimed at protecting the university's community, and fully adhere to defense orders and the decisions of the Higher Education Council on disallow any student to enter the university campus, unless he has to attend lectures, including graduate students.

The university expressed its willingness to open at least three vaccination centers, in addition to the university hospital center.

The statement said that these measures were aimed at confronting the spread of the Covid-19 pandemic, due to the hike in infections and in line with recent government measures, which require everyone to intensify efforts.
