Ammon News - AMMAN - Jordan has taken part in a conference on international medical tourism, the USAID Jordan Economic Development Program (SABEQ) said in a statement Monday.
Jordan, the statement added, presented three offers to promote the medical tourism in the Kingdom and put Jordan on the global tourism map.
On the sidelines of the conference, Jordan's delegation representing Society of Private Hospitals organized a special pavilion to increase the participants' awareness on the medical tourism attractions in the Kingdom.
The Jordanian delegation signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) with the Medical Tourism Association (MTA) to organize the Middle East Medical Tourism Conference 2011 in Jordan.
The statement said that the Society and the U.S. International Agency for International Development (USAID) would organize workshops to explain the International Accreditation Standards for Hospitals addressing a series of measures and surveys to obtain International Accreditation Standards.
The delegation attended a number of workshops linked with the conference, which took place on marketing, electronic marketing and World medical tourism.
The Jordanian delegation had organized several meetings with their counterparts participating in the conference to introduce the medical tourism industry in Jordan, according to the statement.
