Ammon News - Temperatures on Wednesday are expected to rise 4-6 degrees above their annual average, so it will be relatively cold in the hilly areas and fair in other parts of the country, with clouds at various altitudes and southeasterly to southwesterly moderate to brisk winds.

According to the Jordan Meteorological Department (JMD), the Kingdom will be affected on Thursday by a very cold and wet air mass accompanied by a depression from Turkey, pushing temperatures sharply down and bringing chilly and partly cloudy weather along with intermittent rain in the northern and central highlands and parts of the southwestern areas, while winds will be westerly active with strong gusts, blowing dust in the Badia.

As we head into Friday, the impact of the chilly front will deepen and mercury will continue to dip, becoming 2-3 degrees below their seasonal average, so biting cold and cloudy skies will prevail with spotty showers in the western and some eastern regions.

Rainfall is expected to become heavier accompanied by thunder and hail at times, causing flash floods in the valleys and low-lying areas, the meteorologists predicted. At night, rainfall will gradually taper off with patchy fog over heights.

Temperatures in Amman today will be 18 Celsius degrees, dropping to 6C during night hours, while the city of Aqaba will see a high of 23C, sliding into 11C at night.
