Ammon News - Chairman of Jordan Integrity and Anti-Corruption Commission (JIACC), Muhannad Hijazi, has pledged to enhance cooperation and coordination and exchanging experience with the Palestinian Anti-Corruption Commission (PACC) to serve mutual interests.
Addressing the 2nd International Conference 2020 held remotely by the Palestinian Authority on the occasion of the International Anti-Corruption Day, which falls on December 9, under the theme: "Integrity, Transparency and Accountability Policies between Theory and Practice," Hijazi recalled Jordan's "firm and unwavering "positions under the leadership of His Majesty King Abdullah II, which affirm that a just and comprehensive peace in the region will not be achieved unless the Palestinian people restore their rights fully.
Hijazi highlighted Jordan's achievements to consolidate the state of law, achieve justice and equality, ensure basic freedoms and human rights, adding that the Kingdom has issued a national integrity charter that defined the axes of accountability in public, private sectors, civil society organizations and the media.
During the conference sponsored by Palestinian President Mahmoud Abbas, Hijazi said the JIACC has embraced a commitment to integrity and the rule of law, in addition to an updated integrity strategy for 2020/2025 that took into account local and international developments and the requirements for continuous improvement in the commission's performance.
Moreover, he said the JIACC approved national integrity criteria which were circulated to all state agencies.
To help boost integrity, Hijazi called on all world countries, which are still fighting the scourge of corruption, to boost joint cooperation to break the phenomenon's "severity" and step up concerned efforts in this regard.
