Ammon News - Associate Professor and consultant of preventive medicine and epidemiology, Dr Muneer Abu-hlalah, warns of taking a decision to return to schools without planning due to the current epidemiological situation of COVID-19.

In a statement to Ammonnews, Abu-hlalah stressed that any decision should be postponed until the beginning of the next month in order to precisely assess the epidemiological situation and thus, avoid any change with regards to the decision.

Receiving the vaccine and giving it to people will help in re-opening of sectors and schools, however it is still early to talk about this matter, he said.

Many countries which intend to start a national vaccination have decided to shut down schools, including the United States of America, he added.

He also criticized the statements of health protocols and commitment to measures in schools as there are 12 governorates in Jordan, indicating that health protocols and commitment to measures may be only applied in some schools in Amman.
