Ammon News - AMMONNEWS - Minister of State for Media Affairs, Amjad Adaileh, said the government's resignation is a constitutional commitment that embodies the "lofty democratic principles" that the Jordanian state, under its wise Hashemite leadership, has "consistently" pursued since its establishment.

Speaking during a joint press briefing held in the Prime Ministry on Sunday, Adaileh said the government, based on the Royal mandate, will continue to work until a new Cabinet is formed, with vigor, determination and perseverance, to deal with the Covid-19 pandemic, "which requires focused and continuous work, and to continue taking measures without delay. "

The government, he noted, will not issue decisions extensively and will abide by the Constitution's provisions and legislation in force, adding the government's decisions will be limited to only necessary matters to maintain work of institutions, and provide ordinary services to citizens.

The Council of Ministers held a session today headed by Prime Minister, Omar , during which discussions focused on the necessary steps that could be taken during the current period, especially with regard to dealing with the Covid-19 pandemic, according to Adaileh.

The government, he said, will not hesitate to take the necessary measures and decisions to deal with the Covid-19 pandemic, that will preserve the citizens' health and safety, and maintain continued work of various sectors, with the same partnership and coordination among the state's civil and military agencies, a policy applied since the start of the coronavirus crisis.

The minister noted the Jordanian health sector, which has presented a "distinguished" model during the past years and decades, is able to deal with this crisis with the health workers' efficiency and sincerity, and to invest all available resources, with the cooperation of all Jordanians.

The minister also reviewed outcomes of inspection and monitoring tours made by supervisory authorities to check on the extent of individuals, establishments compliance to public safety instructions and defense orders nationwide over the past three days.

With regard to overseeing ministries and government institutions, he said the inspection tours made by the Audit Bureau and the internal control units continued at their usual pace, and resulted in issuing fines against 38 entities, by holding accountable those in charge of implementing the public safety measures.

In addition, 116 employees were fined for failing to adhere to public safety and prevention measures, as some ministries and institutions have barred citizens' entry to process transactions for failing to use the health "Aman" application.

In this context, a total of 6,330 inspection tours were made and 221 non-compliant establishments, and 328 citizens were fined, respectively, Adailed said.
