Ammon News - AMMONNEWS – The Facebook group “Koran toilet paper roll” provoked widespread calls to Muslims to boycott the popular social networking site “Facebook” for its refusal to shut down this group, which is immensely offensive to Muslims.
Hundreds of thousands of Muslims around the world are participating in the boycott on Saturday, October 24th, represented by several Facebook boycott groups, most notably “We want Facebook to close this group: Koran toilet paper roll,” which has nearly 400,000 members.
Overall membership in boycott groups surpassed one million.
Tens of thousands of Jordanians are answering the call, posting the boycott logo as their profile pictures for the day.
A boycott by a huge number of members even for just one day, according to boycott organizers, will likely cause substantial financial losses to the site.
