Heat wave to persist in most regions

Ammon News - AMMONNEWS - Jordan will remain on Monday and Tuesday under the influence of a scorching heat wave that will push temperatures 4-5 degrees above their annual average, according to the Jordan Meteorological Department (JMD).
In Amman and other highlands, north and south, daytime temperatures will range between 33 and 39 degrees Celsius. In the late afternoon and evening hours, cooler weather is forecast as temperatures slide to around 26 and even 21 in the southern highlands, the JMD said.
The Jordan Valley, the Dead Sea and the Red Sea port of Aqaba are expected to swelter in a blazing weather, with temperatures reaching around 43C, the forecasters predicted.
Wednesday is expected to bring in similar hot weather in most regions of the country, with northwesterly moderate to brisk winds, the JMD noted.
