Ammon News - AMMONNEWS - The Greater Amman Municipality (GAM) announced Sunday its public parks will reopen early next month after a 3-month closure, triggered by the Covid-19 pandemic, according to GAM Deputy Director for Health and Agriculture, Dr. Mervat Mheirat.
In press remarks to "Petra," Mheirat said the decision to reopen Amman parks comes in implementation of the new procedures announced in the the joint statement of Prime Ministry and the Ministry of Health.
The GAM has sterilized all 143 public parks and 16 gardens in the capital, she pointed out.
With the reopening of public parks, instructions, announced by the Ministry of Health, will be observed in terms of the necessity to follow the necessary preventive measures, such as wearing masks and maintaining physical distancing, she noted.
Continuing:"We will work to strengthen supervision in public parks and gardens to preserve the visitors' health, and to coordinate with the security authorities in this regard."
