Razzaz announces a matrix plan to reopen most sectors effective as of Saturday

Ammon News - AMMONNEWS - Prime Minister, Omar Razzaz, announced on Thursday, a plan and a procedural matrix to reopen most sectors and activities in the Kingdom and allow movement freedom after "advanced" indicators in the health field were made, following a lockdown was in place for over a two- month period nationwide.

Speaking during a press conference at the National Center for Security and Crisis Management (NCSCM), Razzaz said the methodology that was determined to resume operating this matrix came after the achievement of an advanced level in the five risk indicators, adopted in the plan, as "a moderate level of severity that ranks in a penultimate place".

What was achieved came as a result of concerted effort, led by His Majesty King Abdullah II, and the citizens' awareness, he said.

Moreover, he noted this new stage, scheduled to be in place in the next few days, will be reflected positively in reopening sectors and allowing movement within the governorates and outside of them.

Continuing: "Today also marks the end of the isolation period in several pandemic areas in Mafraq, Irbid and Jerash,. For almost two weeks, we see less than 10 daily domestic Covid-19 cases."

In this context, the premier stressed the importance of His Majesty's directives to give the issue of citizen health the highest priority, in parallel to reopen vital social or economic sectors.

From the beginning of the outbreak, he said the government was committed to announce the full Covid-19 numbers, and report the Kingdom's health conditions, as a "step ahead" is taken, he said, adding the gov't also pledges to announce the risk levels, that the domestic novel virus infections.

In response to a question on halting the defense law, Razzaz said the government is "looking forward" to the day when the last defense order will be announced and reach a "low-risk" stage reached, simultaneous with addressing "immediate" economic challenges, and life returns to normalcy.

The most important decision taken by the government during the Covid-19 crisis is to activate the defense law with Royal directives, as "quick" measures can't be taken to to deal with the crisis's repercussions, and addressing them faster, he pointed out.

Continuing: "We do not claim all defense orders are perfect, but we had to in light of developments in the epidemiological situation, while underling His Majesty's directives to use this law at the limited level".

With regard to the matrix, and its effectiveness, Razzaz said a strong analytical system was in place, which the government has worked on in coordination with the security departments and the crisis cell.

The system, he said, has seen global experiences in dealing with the Covid-19 repercussions, and the way to deal with infection numbers and open sectors gradually.

With regard to the private sector, Razzaz noted the government has taken a set of measures to assist in a phased manner by reducing costs and helping the sector's adjustment, and recovery.
