No new cases of coronavirus in Kingdom, 11 imported cases recorded

Ammon News - AMMONNEWS - The Ministry of Health said Saturday that no new cases of coronavirus were recorded inside the Kingdom, but 11 infections that came from abroad were registered, bringing the caseload to 607.

According to the media briefing by the Prime Ministry and the health ministry, the cases from abroad were: a Jordanian citizen returning from Dubai and 10 truck drivers coming across Al-Omari border, including 5 Jordanians and 5 from non-Jordanian nationalities, who were dealt with "according to the established protocol."

The bulletin also said that three cases recovered at Prince Hamzah Hospital today, leaving 132 cases still receiving medical care, including 54 at King Abdullah University Hospital, 50 cases at Prince Hamzah Hospital and 28 at Queen Alia Hospital.

It also said that 3,993 laboratory tests were carried out today, bringing the total number of tests that were conducted since the start of the pandemic to 140,222.

The statement also said flights designated to bring home stranded Jordanians and students abroad continued for the second day in a row, within the second phase of a plan to fly them home, adding that the details of the third phase will be announced during the coming days, including travelers from new countries.

It indicated that all returnees will be placed under quarantine as a precautionary measure, including those who have previously been infected with the virus abroad and recovered.
