Ammon News - AMMONNEWS - Prime Minister Omar Razzaz and chairman and board members of the Jordan Chamber of Industry (JCI), Tuesday, held a meeting in Amman as part of a series of meetings held by the government with different key economic sectors to determine its priorities for 2020 and 2021.
Razzaz stressed the importance of partnership with the industrial sector, which is a "major driver of the national economy," as it includes about 17,000 establishments, providing jobs for more than 250,000 Jordanians.
"Although Jordan is a small country in terms of resources, it is great for its creativity, and we are proud that our national industries have reached more than 140 countries, and the volume of national exports has increased during the past year by up to 8,2 percent as opposed to the same period the previous year," he said, stressing that the purpose of holding the meetings is to listen to the industrialists' observations and recommendations on challenges they face.
He said that the government has been implementing what was discussed at the end of 2018, chief of which is reducing energy prices by 11 percent.
