Ammon News - AMMONNEWS - Minister of Industry, Trade and Supply, Tariq Hammouri, Thursday underscored keenness of Jordan and Iraq to implement joint economic agreements and memos.
Hammouri said his remarks during a panel discussion as part of the 6th Sulaimani Forum in Baghdad on the importance of the Jordanian-Iraqi economic ties and their prospects in light of the latest agreements signed between the two countries.
The bilateral agreements are laying the foundations for an unprecedented economic cooperation, which is very important to achieve economic integration between the two countries in various fields. This cooperation is a model for pan-Arab relations, which we need to serve the Arab economic interests, a statement issued by the Ministry of Industry, Trade and Supply quoted Hammouri as saying.
During the panel, which saw the participation of Iraqi officials, the minister noted that Jordan, under the leadership of His Majesty King Abdullah II, is harnessing all its capabilities at the disposal of the Iraqis to enable them overcome the hardships their country has been going through for the last years, foremost of which is the Jordanian cumulative expertise, especially in the field of striking free trade agreements.
The forum, which concludes on Thursday, discussed a range of economic and political issues, primarily the economic integration in the region, the international policies towards Iraq and the future of its energy sector, as well as many topics concerning the Iraqis.
