Ammon News - AMMONNEWS - The Kingdom will be affected on Monday by a cold and wet air mass, pushing temperatures down and creating cold and partly cloudy, the Jordan Meteorological Department (JMD) said.
Scattered rain is expected in the northern and central parts of the southwesterly regions that may turn heavy accompanied by hail at times causing floods in valleys and low-lying regions.
A slight chance of snow accompanied by rain is also forecast in morning hours in hilly areas, while winds will be westerly to southwesterly moderate with strong gust reaching 50k km/h, blowing dust in many areas and causing low visibility, the JMD added.
Daytime temperatures forecast for today in Amman, the northern and the southern cities will reach 11 degrees Celsius dropping down at night to 5, 6 and 3 respectively. The weather will be warmer in the port city of Aqaba with highs reaching 19 degrees and lows standing at 15, the JMD said.
Mercury levels will rise few degrees on Tuesday creating relatively cold weather in the hilly areas and the plains, while it will be fair in other regions with low clouds and southeasterly moderate to brisk winds, the department noted.
A further rise in temperatures is expected on Wednesday, but similar weather conditions will continue to prevail with southeasterly moderate to southwesterly brisk, raising dust in the desert areas, the JMD further said.
