Ammon News - AMMONNEWS - Chilly and partly cloudy weather are expected to prevail on Monday with rain at times mainly in the northern and central parts of the country, while winds will be southwesterly moderate blowing dust in the desert regions, the Jordan Meteorological Department (JMD) said .
A new depression, centered over Cyprus is expected to start affecting the Kingdom Tuesday night, bringing cold and partly cloudy conditions with rain across many parts of the country, the JMD added.
Heavy rain accompanied with thunder and hail is expected at night in the central and northern regions, causing floods in valleys and lowlands, the department explained.
Snow is also expected Tuesday evening in the hilly areas, while winds will be south westerly brisk with speed exceed 75 kilometers per hour, blowing dust in the Badia regions.
Daytime temperatures expected for today in Amman and the northern cities will reach 10 degrees Celsius dropping down at night to 3 and 4 respectively. Mercury levels in the Gulf of Aqaba will reach a high of 20 degrees and a low of 8 , the JMD further said.
