Ammon News - AMMONNEWS - The total foreign assistance contracted since the beginning of 2018 until December 20, reached $ 3.3 billion, according to the Ministry of Planning and International Cooperation.
The ministry said in a statement that the aid includes $1.1 billion as regular grants, $1.3 billion as soft loans and $894.7 billion as additional grants within Jordan Response Platform (JRP) for the Syria Crisis.
The statement added that $526 million of regular grants are directed to support the general budget and the rest will be used to finance development projects in various governorates across the Kingdom in several sectors, notably water and sanitation, education, growth and health, social protection and empowerment of women.
The ministry said that $873 million of the loans were allocated to support the public budget. The soft loans was divided into three major sectors: 66 percent to support the public budget, 14 percent to finance development projects in the water and sanitation sector and 20 percent to the energy and electricity sector.
The additional grants were distributed within the Jordan Response Platform (JRP) for the Syria Crisis on three main pillars of the plan: support of the budget with $ 3.5 million, support of development projects in the host communities with $ 218.6 million and support refugees with $ 228.69 million.
