Ammon News - AMMONNEWS - Relatively cold weather is forecast Monday across many parts of the Kingdom, while it will be pleasant in the Jordan Valley and the Dead Sea with northwesterly moderate winds, the Jordan Meteorological Department (JMD) said.
Low clouds are also forecast in the northern and central parts of the country with a chance for scattered showers in the northern regions and fog formation over the highlands and the Badia regions, it added.
Temperatures will slightly rise on Tuesday becoming few degrees above their annual average, but similar weather will continue to prevail with southeasterly moderate winds, the JMD said.
The Kingdom will be affected on Wednesday evening by a depression accompanied by a wet and cold air mass centered over Cyprus. Therefore it will be cold and cloudy with rainfall in the northern regions gradually extending at night to the central and southern areas. Heavy rain is also expected at times in the northern and central regions, causing floods in valleys and lowlands.
Winds will be westerly moderate to brisk at times, blowing dust in the southern and eastern parts of the country, the JMD further said.
Daytime temperatures expected for today in Amman, the northern and the southern cities will hover around 14 degrees Celsius, dropping down at night to 7, 9 and 3 respectively. The weather will be warmer in the port city of Aqaba with highs reaching 24 degrees and lows standing at 13, the JMD explained.
