Safadi: Arabs rejected US decision on Jerusalem, Arab FM's to meet again

Ammon News - AMMONNEWS - Minister of Foreign and Expatriates Affairs Ayman Safadi said that the Arab League Council will meet a gain within a month to assess political developments in light of the US decision to recognize Jerusalem as the capital of Israel.
He said the Arab foreign ministers will agree during their upcoming meeting on future steps including the convening of an Arab summit in Jordan, which is the current president of the Arab summit.
Safadi's remarks came during a press conference at the conclusion of the Arab foreign ministers' emergency meeting in Cairo that was attended by the Arab League Secretary General Ahmad Abul Ghait, Palestinian Foreign Minister Riyad Al Maliki and Foreign Minister of Djibouti Mahamoud Ali Youssouf.
Safadi said the foreign ministers' meeting which was held upon Jordan's request, voiced clearly its rejection of the US decision as it is illegal and contradicts international legitimacy.
He said the Arab Peace Initiative Committee, which is headed by Jordan, will form a delegation to work with the international community to step repercussions of the US decision to recognize Jerusalem as the capital of Israel.
Safadi said the final communique approved a number of decision to deal with the situation, adding that the ministers will meet once again after a month to assess the situation and take further steps according to that.
