Arabs to hold meeting on Jerusalem’s ‘legal, historical and religious status’

Ammon News - AMMONNEWS - The Arab League is to hold an emergency meeting on Saturday after the United States recognized Jerusalem as the capital of Israel, the head of the Palestinian delegation to the body said.
The Jordan News Agency, Petra, quoted Ali Al Ayed, Jordan's Ambassador to Egypt and its permanent representative to the Arab League as saying that the meeting will discuss measures that will be taken to deal with the US decision and its dangerous repercussions with a view to defending occupied Jerusalem and its legal, historical and religious status.
The meeting has been called on Jordan's request, and a number of Arab countries approved this due to the importance of Jerusalem for Arabs and Muslims, he said.
