Temperatures rise as new heatwave starts

Ammon News - AMMONNEWS - A new heat wave starts affecting the Kingdom Monday pushing temperatures 4-6 degrees Celsius above their seasonal average, reaching during daytime a maximum of 37 degrees Celsius in the capital and jumping to 44 degrees in Aqaba .

According to the Jordan Meteorological Department (JMD), this new heat wave will bring hot conditions in the hilly areas while it will be very hot in other parts of the country. Temperatures will cool down at night dropping to 26 in Amman and sliding to 32 in Aqaba.

Mercury levels will keep soaring on Tuesday, becoming 6-8 degrees above their annual average and creating very hot conditions in most areas . Clouds will appear at various altitudes with northwesterly moderate to brisk winds, the department said.

On Wednesday, temperatures will slightly but similar weather conditions will continue to prevail with northwesterly moderate to brisk winds, the JMD added.
