Ammon News - AMMONNEWS - Jordan Friday welcomed UNESCO’s vote to recognize the Old City of Hebron and Al-Ibrahimi mosque as Palestinian heritage sites that are in danger.

Mohammad Al Momani, Jordanian Minister of State for Media Affairs told the national news agency Petra that the resolution affirms the illegality of measures and violations adopted by the Israeli occupation in the city of Hebron.

He said the resolution will help protect the city and its heritage from the Israeli occupation. “The resolution challenges Israeli attempts to impose a new reality on the Old City of Hebron through unacceptable and illegal violations.”

On behalf of the Jordanian government, al Momani congratulated Arabs and Muslims around the world as well as the Palestinian Authority and people for this achievement.
