Ammon News - AMMONNEWS - Arab interior ministers meet in Tunisia amid critical regional challenges, Minister of Interior Ghalib Zoubi said on Thursday.
Zoubi, who is leading the Jordanian delegation to the 34th session of the Council of Arab Ministers currently underway in Tunisia, said that a number of Arab countries are suffering turmoil and difficult humanitarian and economic challenges, accompanied by growing terrorism, arms and drug trade and refugees crises.
Terrorism, Zoubi said, remains the top challenge facing regional countries, adding that terrorist acts and destructive ideologies crossed all religious redlines. Combating terrorism requires consolidated efforts at the regional and international levels, the minister said. It also requires finding solutions to regional conflicts, civil and sectarian wars and fighting all forms of terrorism, the minister added.
The Jordanian government has developed a comprehensive plan to fight terrorism and secure the society against extremism, the interior minister said, adding that this plan includes the engagement of all public and private institutions.
