02-04-2017 03:42 PM

Ammon News - AMMONNEWS - His Majesty King Abdullah II Sunday met with community figures and tribal elders in the southern governorate of Tafileh and ordered authorities to speed up the implementation of public projects in the governorate.

His Majesty ordered the government to accelerate the establishment of the industrial hub in Tafileh and attract investments. He noted that additional 300 jobs will be made available at Basira garment factory, which currently employs 400 persons.

Furthermore, the King instructed the government to start the Tafileh public hospital project, which His Majesty said, will be completed in three years. King Abdullah stressed that an additional emphasis should be put on agricultural projects, adding that more support should be channeled to this key sector.

Speaking on national issues, the King said the economy remains Kingdom's top challenge, emphasizing that state bodies should forge closer coordination to lay out governorates' economic priorities for the 2017-2018 period.

His Majesty said the parliament should work for the finalization of investment legislation to lure in more investments into the country in 2017 and generate more job opportunities for Jordanians.

King Abdullah spoke about the recent Arab Summit, which was held in Amman, and said the gathering helped build bridges between Arab countries and formulate common visions towards regional issues.
