Ammon News - AMMONNEWS - Minister for Foreign and Expatriates Affairs, Ayman Safadi, on Tuesday, said Jordan wants an upcoming Arab summit, to be held in Amman later this month, to serve as springboard for a more effective and institutionalized Arab effort with specific programs and initiatives to boost the Arab nation's ability to address challenges and pan-Arab issues.
Delivering Jordan's speech at the 147th ministerial meeting of the Arab League Council, Al-Safadi said Jordan is looking forward to welcoming Arab leaders to the 28th Arab Summit and hopes the meeting would serve as a platform to promote joint Arab action, serve the Arab nation's interests and meet its peoples desires and aspirations.
In his speech, the minister added that overcoming challenges, besetting the Arab nation and harvesting opportunities, call for activating the joint Arab action within institutionalized frameworks.
The foreign minister spoke about a range of issues including Jerusalem, the war on terrorism, Syria, the refugees crisis, Iraq, Yemen and Libya.
