11-02-2017 09:11 AM

Ammon News - AMMONNEWS - A government source Saturday denied that the government will raise the price of a cooking gas cylinder later this month, and reassured that it will stick to the decisions of the government's oil pricing committee, which modifies prices on monthly basis.

"Gas prices will remain at the levels set by the pricing committee, and that there is no plan to raise the price of a gas cylinder", the source told Petra.

Earlier this month, the pricing committee, which sets the prices of oil derivatives each month according to fluctuations in global crude prices, announced that the price of a cooking gas cylinder used largely by households and restaurants, will remain at JD 7 dinars in February despite rising to JD 8.5 globally.
