30-01-2017 07:04 AM

Ammon News - AMMONNEWS - A rise in temperatures is expected on Monday, but it will continue to be cold in the hilly areas, the Badia regions and the eastern plains, and relatively warm in the Jordan Valley and the Dead Sea, according to Jordan Meteorological Department (JMD).

Overnight temperatures will plummet as a result of the influx of cold air causing frost formation in different parts of the country.

Daytime temperatures expected in the capital and southern regions for today will reach a high of 10 degrees Celsius, dropping down to 1 degree in Amman and minus 1 in the southern parts. Mercury levels in the Gulf of Aqaba will register 20 degrees sliding to 9 at night.

Similar cold conditions are forecast to continue over the next two days, with colder winds and partly cloudy to cloudy skies. Drizzles and snow showers are also expected Wednesday in the hilly areas and parts of the eastern regions with frost formation across the Kingdom, the JMD added.
