Ammon News - AMMONNEWS - Miss Universe Japan 2016 Sari Nakazawa will start a week-long trip to Jordan on Thursday to see first-hand the humanitarian aid provided to Syrian refugees in the Kingdom, the Jordan Red Crescent Society (JRCS) announced today.
The JRCS said in a press release that the beauty will learn about the humanitarian efforts and services being provided to the refugees and local communities in association with the Japanese Red Cross Society.
It said the visit is aimed to shed light on the suffering of the Syrian refugees in Jordan and the implications of the refugee problem on host communities.
The beauty queen will call on the Jordan Red Crescent Hospital to look at the health services it provides to the refugees, and will also visit a vocational training center to view the programs carried out for local women and refugee women, which include, sewing, handicrafts, anti-illiteracy and computer courses.
She will join Syrian refugee children in a health awareness campaign by a group of volunteers and JRCS in Amman's Marj Al Hamam Park, according to the press release.
Based on her social responsibility, Nakazawa seeks through winning the beauty pageant to start a worldwide tour to support humanitarian activities.
After her Jordan visit, she will launch a fund raising campaign in her country to support the activities and programs run by the JRCS.
Sari Nakazawa is a Japanese model and beauty pageant title holder who was crowned Miss Japan 2016. She is a graduate of the Faculty of Medicine.
