3 Gendarmerie personnel injured in Madaba

Ammon News - AMMONNEWS - Three Gendarmerie personnel were injured late Wednesday, while performing their duty in Theeban district in Madaba Governorate, some 30 kilometers southwest of Amman.
The incident took place, during an operation carried out by a force from the Gendarmerie and Public Security Department (PSD) to arrest a group of outlaws in the area.
Following the arrest of 9 outlaws, a group of people blocked the main road and attacked the police station with stones and fireworks, a statement by the PSD said.
In order to disperse the rioters, the security personnel arrested another 13 people after using tear gas, but after a while rioters opened fire using automatic weapons against the Gendarmerie personnel, injuring three of them.
The injured soldiers were transferred to Al-Hussein Medical Center, and they were reported to be in moderate conditions.
Stemming from its full responsibility of maintaining security and public order, as well as respecting the right of every citizen to live in peace and tranquility, the Interior Ministry and its security apparatuses will not allow anyone to bypass the law, or tamper with the country's security.
