Ammon News - AMMONNEWS - Exports of free zones during the first quarter of 2016 stood at $1 billion, according to Chairman of the Jordanian Free Zones Corporation (JFZC) Nasser Shraideh.
Shraideh said that exports from free zones remained at a level that reflects the volume of investments in the JFZC despite regional circumstances, noting that the rise in exports is connected to better conditions in the region.
According to JFZC figures, the value of exported goods and machinery from free zone in the first quarter of this year reached JD619.
The JFZC chairman told Petra that the number of direct job opportunities in free zones is estimated at 21,000, noting that the corporation also contributed indirectly in creating 10,000 other job opportunities.
