Ammon News - AMMONNEWS - The Japanese government has launched four new projects to help Jordan grapple with the Syrian refugees crisis.
A statement received by Petra said that, stemming from Japan's continued support to Jordan, the 4 projects will be implemented by the United Nations Office for Project Services, cooperatively with the Syrian Refugee Affairs Directorate and Jordan's Armed Forces, to help Jordan respond to emergency situations and provide safety and security to Jordanians in addition to Syrian refugees.
The government of Japan will donate machinery and other equipment to provide high-quality services and safe transportation upon the arrival of Syrian refugees, the statement explained.
According to the statement, the donation will contribute ambulances and other equipment to refugees the Zaatari refugee camp and host communities.
Japanese Ambassador to Jordan Shuichi Sakurai said " we hope Tokyo-funded ventures will help in alleviating the challenges facing Jordan as a result of hosting the refugees".
Moreover, a center to combat extremism will also be established, to promote moderation and tolerance, the statement added.
