King hands over Hashemite standard to Armed Forces

Ammon News - AMMONNEWS - His Majesty King Abdullah II, the Supreme Commander of the Jordan Armed Forces – Arab Army, Tuesday, handed over the Hashemite flag, to His Majesty King's Advisor for Military Affairs and Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff Gen. Mashal Mohammad Al Zabin during a solemn military ceremony, which was attended by Her Majesty Queen Rania, His Royal Highness Crown Prince Hussein bin Abdullah II and a number of royal family members, in addition to senior civic and military officials.
The Hashemite flag derives its colors and slogan from the Great Arab revolt flag with its historical, religious and Arab dimensions.
Loaded on a vehicle with a historical past that took part in the two world wars, the Hashemite flag was lifted onto the main flagpole inside Al Husseiniya Palace compound.
The handing over of the flag by the King to the Armed Forces was proof of the high status the Arab Army personnel enjoyed. It also promoted the Army's message and role through many historical periods in the history of Jordan, the Middle East and the world.
During the solemn ceremony, which began and concluded with the national anthem, a squadron of F16s was flying in the Kingdom's sky.
