King meets with British Royal College of Defense delegation

Ammon News - AMMONNEWS - His Majesty King Abdullah II, on Sunday, met with a delegation from the British Royal College of Defense Studies (RCDS), which included representatives from 13 countries participating in the college's programs.

During the meeting, His Majesty the King reviewed Jordan's stances on various issues and its support for efforts to combat terrorism and extremism, as well as efforts to achieve peace in the Middle East.

King Abdullah stressed the importance of concerted regional and international efforts to combat this danger, which does not exclude anyone, through a holistic approach and a participatory strategy involving various dimensions.

His Majesty pointed out that Islam, which embraces tolerance and promotes moderation, rejects extremist behavior and upholds the values of peace, faith and coexistence.

The King also stressed the centrality of the Palestinian issue as the core of the conflict in the region, noting that the lack of a just and comprehensive solution is a major factor in the instability in the region.

The meeting also tackled challenges in Syria, Iraq, Libya and Yemen, and emphasized the need to reach a comprehensive solution to the crises there.

King Abdullah highlighted challenges that face the national economy as a result of hosting nearly 1.4 million Syrians, which requires the international community to intensify its assistance to Jordan to enable it to continue providing humanitarian and relief services in this area.

Members of the delegation expressed their appreciation for Jordan's efforts under the leadership of His Majesty the King, in order to establish security and stability in the region and dealing with various challenges.
