Prime minister lights Fuhais Christmas tree

Ammon News - AMMONNEWS - Prime Minister Abdullah Ensour, on Saturday, joined the Christian communities of Jordan celebrations of the advent of Christmas and the new year in Fuhais, where the city center tree was lit.

Mayor of Fuhais as well as religious leaders addressed the celebration with remarks that praised Jordan and its people as a model of coexistence and tolerance

Father Imad Aalamat said that since His Majesty the King announced Christmas day a national holiday in 1999, the day has become a true national occasion, celebrated by the entire Jordanian family.

Boy scouts from local schools as well as a number of Jordanian artists took part in the celebration performing Christmas carols, songs and poetry.
