JD 235 Million Refugee aid to Jordan since outbreak of Syrian Crisis

Ammon News - AMMONNEWS - Majed Al-Dabbas- The foreign aid to Jordan, since the Since Syrian conflict started,reached to 235 JD million, Minister of Planning and International Cooperation Ibrahim Saif told Ammon News on Tuesday.

Syrian refugees has already cost Jordan over 660 JD million since the Syrian war began April 2011, Saif said.

He stressed that Jordan is coordinating with the international community , and discussing the ways to help Jordan in this crisis, especially the northern areas of the Kingdom.

Recent estimates of the United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees (UNHCR) of the total number of Syrian refugees in Jordan reached to 600,000. Zaatari refugee camp has become the fourth largest "city" in Jordan by population, while unofficial statistics numbering more than a million and a half refugees, where a large number of them exist before the start of displacement two years ago.
