Ammon News - AMMONNEWS - The current government of Prime Minister Abdullah Ensour has not brought about any positive impact on citizens, but rather only increased prices on important goods, raised fees and taxes, meanwhile the budget deficit has increased as well, Member of Parliament Mustafa Rawashdeh said.
"It is time for the government to go, because it has not brought about anything new," Rawashdeh told Ammon News on Saturday.
Rawashdeh directed harsh criticism against the government, stressing that citizens have not witnessed any positive impact on their daily lives from this government despite the government's repeated claims that it is implementing corrective economic measures.
Inflation has skyrocketed as the purchase value continues to drop, Rawashdeh noted.
On the political level, Rawashdeh blasted Abdullah Ensour's government for not accomplishing any tangible "achievements."
"The government instead almost got us into regional crises over government officials' statements.. but Jordan, with the wisdom of its leadership, managed to deal with the crises with balance," Rawashdeh added.
On the local scale, Rawashdeh said that the government targeted the parliament and sought to ruin its image, noting that the government does not deal with members of parliament on equal footing.
"Because of these political and economic shortcomings, I believe the government should resign... There is no progress witnessed in the kingdom even on the level of services," Rawashdeh said.
"The continuation of this government in office will only lead to further crises and instability, a matter that should not be met with silence," he added.
