Administrators at GAM commented that the decision comes as the Greater Amman Municipality is "overloaded" with employees, as a result of thousands of appointments made by former mayors. The decision also comes in part to prevent members of Parliament from using their "wasta" to appoint members of their constituencies at the capital's municipality, as has been a common practice of pressures on former mayors.

Ammon News - AMMONNEWS - Newly-appointed Mayor of Amman, Aqel Beltaji, decided to halt all new job appointments and hiring at the Greater Amman Municipality (GAM).

Administrators at GAM commented that the decision comes as the Greater Amman Municipality is "overloaded" with employees, as a result of thousands of appointments made by former mayors.

The decision also comes in part to prevent members of Parliament from using their "wasta" to appoint members of their constituencies at the capital's municipality, as has been a common practice of pressures on former mayors.
