Ammon News - AMMAN (Petra) Lower House Speaker Saad Hayel Srour has said Jordan will continue to support the legitimate rights of Palestinians and do its best to help them regain their national rights.

Speaking at the opening of a House session today, which coincides with the 65th anniversary of Nakba ("Day of the Catastrophe), Ensour praised the Palestinian people for their steadfast determination in the face of unjust Israeli practices in the Palestinian lands and holy sites.

Nakba is the day when the Palestinians commemorate the loss of their homes in the 1948 war that resulted in the creation of Israel and the displacement of hundreds of thousands of Palestinians.

At the session, which was attended by Prime Minister Abdullah Ensour and Cabinet members, Srour stated that Israel had not only occupied what was historically Palestine territory, but also "has ambitions on our water, land, welfare and dignity, as well as our present and future".
