Ammon News - AMMONNEWS - Jordan's military tribunal on Monday sentenced four Jordanians to prison for attempting to join the Islam Army in Gaza, a group reportedly affiliated with Al-Qaeda.
The State Security Court (SSC) handed four Jordanian nationals prison sentences ranging from 2 and a half years to five years.
The court tribunal, headed by Judge Ahmad Qatarneh and includes Judges Ahmad al Obari and Bilal Bakhit, charged the four citizens with attempting to carryout unlawful acts that threatens Jordan's security.
According to the court proceedings, the defendants planned to travel to Aqaba and take the ferry to Egypt's Rafah border crossing in an attempt to infiltrate into Gaza to join the Islam Army there.
