AMMONNEWS -(Update) Jordan's national football team defeated visiting Japan 2-1 in the 2014 World Cup qualifier match held Tuesday evening at the King Abdullah International Stadium in Qweismeh.
Jordan's Khalil Bani Attiyah scored the goal in the last minute ('45) the first half of the match held with home advantage with over 18,000 spectators attending the match.
Ahmad Hayel resumed the second half with a second goal for Jordan in the '56th minute of the match being held in part of the Fourth Round of the Asian 2014 World Cup qualifiers.
Japan's Samurai Blue scored their goal in the 69th minute, before Jordan's goalkeeper Amer Shafi'ee saved Jordan from a Japanese penalty kick at the 70th minute of the match.
Jordan were boosted with a friendly win over Belarus before they entered into clash with Asian giants Japan. With home advantage, they looked to counterblast their 6-0 defeat when these two teams met at Japan back in 2012 in World cup Asian qualifiers.
Lying 5 places below in the Asian rank and 64 spot down than that of Japan, Jordan looks languid, however their 1-0 win over high lying Belarus added some moral boost to the Jordanians.
