PM visits security operations room to monitor election process (VIDEO)

AMMONNEWS - Prime Minister Abdullah Ensour on Wednesday evening visited the Public Security Department (PSD) operations room to follow up on the security conditions throughout the kingdom on election day.

Ensour was briefed by PSD chief General Hussein Hazza Majali on the security conditions and role of security forces in maintaining safety and security during the voting process on Wednesday.

Over 1.05 million registered voters were reported to have casted their ballots as of 5:30 PM, according to official statistics, with minor incidents reported, including clashes between supporters of candidates in the capital Amman and in southern governorates.

Ensour was present in the operation room as a PSD cadres received and dealt with a number of complaints reported in various governorates.

Also on Wednesday, Ensour visited Jordan Radio and Television Corporation (JRTVC) and Jordan News Agency (Petra) accompanied by State Minister for Media Affairs and Culture Minister Samih Maaytah.

The government officials were briefed on the media agencies' coverage of the Wednesday's parliamentary elections.
