Ammon News - AMMAN (Petra)--Prime Minister Abdullah Ensour on Thursday met with presidents of public and private universities and members of boards of trustees in the presence of Minister of Higher Education and Scientific Research and Education Minister Wajih Oweis.
Ensour highlighted the importance of preserving reputation of Jordan's higher education institutions at the local and Arab levels and stressed the need to address weaknesses in the education system and build on expertise and accomplishments.
"The education system needs a reform process in order to reach an effective educational system that contribute to developing this sector and improving its outputs," he added.
On the upcoming parliamentary elections, the prime minister said all Jordanians can express their views freely whether through taking part in the elections or boycotting them, voicing his conviction that boycotting is illogical and undemocratic.
Ensour stressed the need to fight corrupt candidates and voters as well as political money which harm the elections process, adding that directives of His Majesty the King on this issue are firm and clear.
